Artists & Arts Organizations

The VLA offers many services and educational programs for artists and arts organizations, including:

Legal Services: The VLA assists artists and arts organizations with legal issues and questions through its legal services program. The program operates both through our panel of volunteer and member attorneys and with the VLA staff.

Educational Programs: The VLA offers educational programs and workshops tailored to artists of all disciplines and at all ages and stages of their careers. We also offer educational options tailored to the legal issues and questions of arts organizations. Finally, we offer a series of workshops to better prepare attorneys interested in representing artists and arts organizations.

Legal Resources: The VLA has organized a number of readily available resources for artists and attorneys, including statutes, important agencies and arts organizations, case law and international resources.

Speakers' Bureau: The VLA offers a menu of educational programs designed to meet the needs of the local arts community. Speakers can be engaged by going through the application process.

Board Bank: The VLA Board Bank (Board Bank) places VLA Panel Attorneys on the Board of Directors of small to mid-size arts and cultural organizations.

The VLA offers a Membership Program for artists and arts organizations.
