A yearlong professional development program that empowers emerging and mid-career visual artists with the skills and confidence they need to master the business challenges of being an artist.
The VLA offers a variety of seminars, such as non profit incorporation and will and estates, for artists and arts oganizations.
Teen Art Law is a program designed for Boston-area High School students interested in the arts. These trainings give students first hand knoweldge of the laws protecting visual art and music.
The VLA offers trainings throughout the year that take indepth looks at areas of law and industry effecting artists, such as the recording industry, book publishing and producing a film. These seminars discuss industry standards and common contracts.
Boston University: Legal Issues in Arts Administration
Jim Grace and Andrew Epstein teach a semester-long course at Boston University on legal issues arising in arts administration.
