Jazz Night Grace Kelly

Jazz Night 2009

A Benefit for the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts of Massachusetts, Inc.

Thursday, June 12, 2008 from 6:00 - 10:30 PM at Scullers Jazz Club, located at 400 Soldiers Field Road, Boston

About the Artist:

Grace Kelly is a sixteen year old saxophonist who is rapidly making her way up in the jazz music world. Having studied saxophone since the age of ten, Grace’s talents far outstrips others her age. Grace Kelly began to prepare for a lifetime of music at the age of six when she began to take piano lessons. She started with classical training but soon changed to jazz because she had the propensity not to stick to notes on the page, but wanted to make her own melodies. Grace wrote her first song “On My Way Home” at age seven. Grace is currently studies saxophone with Jerry Bergonzi, Lee Konitz, and Allan Chase. She also studies composition, arranging, flute, drums, and piano. Having participated in the certificate programs at both Brookline Music School and the New England Conservatory Preparatory School, Grace is the youngest ever to complete the four year Jazz Studies Certificate Program at New England Conservatory Prep School.
